Well the news is out now, and oh my I'm so gosh darned proud and excited. Yes, Bristol's having a baby!!!1!! What a wonderful day for our family. I get to be a grandma! And even better, I don't have to wait until I'm as old as Mister McCain to play with the little scamp.
Now I know people might be doing some tut-tutting about Bristol being only 17 and not married yet, but all I have to say to that is why do you have to be such negative nancies?! She's got her loving family to help out (note to self: check up on daycare options at vice presidence house), and PLUS doesn't everyone say it's best to get get started early? I mean just THINK about it! If I had FIVE kids after starting at age 25, who KNOWS how many she'll have with an 8 year head start on me! I'm giddy just thinking about it!
And don't you worry about that boy she's with, we made sure that he knows what's expected of him, so not only do we have a baby to announce, but a WEDDING too!! We were a little worried at first, I'll admit, when the young man didn't seem to have the enthusiasm we were looking for about making everything nice and legal, but after Todd took him out in the woods to go "moose hunting" last month, he came back with a whole different attitude. He'll make a fine member of the family.
p.s. I also would like to totally thank y'all ahead of time for the whole respecting our privacy thing. I know that some of the man-haters out thier will mention something about me not respecting the privacy when it comes to "whores" who want to abort there baby. That's different (duh), if you want to make the choice to get rid of the baby, then the lord jesus says that I can get all up in your lady business. If you want to keep the baby then the lord jesus says that I get to keep it my business.
p.s.s. does any of you have the phone number for Lynne Spears? I totally think we are going to be BFFs :)

How come no one ever discusses the abortion Sarah Palin had in 1983 which caused her to change colleges? Why didn't McCain vet her better?

So here is my take on the latest news about Palin’s 17 year old daughter being pregnant out of wedlock…
Seems to me that the conservatives were all saying how wonderful Palin was because she was such a good mother, able to juggle a career in gov while being a fine mother. So, I guess the conclusion is (despite all previous conservative BS about abstinence, no birth control, no out of wedlock sex, etc.) that it is a good thing for a mother to train her young daughters to have lots of out of wedlock babies. Seems inconsistent, until you think a bit deeper. I think they are hoping that we will have a huge increase in adoptable children and that we will be able to use these kids to balance the trade deficit with china by finally reversing the trend – we will sell (give out for adoption for a “small” fee) all these kids to parents in china who want to have more than one child. What better strategy: we get cheap goods from china and they take all of our unwanted children born to parents who don’t judge their young daughters when they have sex. Thank goodness for mothers like Palin. She obviously trained her daughter well, to sacrifice for our country.
More importantly, it’s only Black out of wedlock births that the republicans are against. Read this, if you don’t believe me:
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1837862-2,00.html
Small town Alaska folks don’t mind if their white teenage daughters get pregnant. It’s just part of growing up in a tough environment. Not like the inner city yewts in the lower 48. They’ve got it easy. When have they ever had to skin, cube, and salt a Moose? True, they learn how to use guns at an early age, but only the males. They keep their females away from that stuff. That’s the heart of the problem. If only the inner city minorities taught the females as well as the males to use guns. Then, we would know their females could handle out of wedlock births without any problems.
Killing a helpless Moose (who may have left offspring) is something to be proud of. Killing a 2 month old fetus is murder. These are lessons we need to teach our children.

I suppose it's a good thing she decided to have her baby knowing it was a down-syndrome baby. That was indeed her choice. However, now that she has made a new choice, who is going to take over the responsibility for her previous choice? Special needs children need 100% of their parents' devotion! I suppose she will be traveling around Air Force One wearing her baby carrier.. or, will this child be sloughed off on a nanny?

Jerry Springler con't have scripted a better family to represent America. How responsible is Palin; and what does Gov. Palin represent? She can't even watch her daughter or get her to keep her legs closed in the name of Republican "Family Values".
The "SHAME" champions against welfare can one more name to the list.
This is a national disgrace to the world!!!!!!

I struggle to understand how parents- both mother and father, could choose to enter into the media frenzy and high demands of a vice presidential campaign when their children need them the most. What kind of attention seeking, ex-beauty pageant mentality rules that kind of decision making? To drag one's teenage daughter into the campaign knowing full well that every aspect of her life will be examined under a "microscope" by the public is abhorrent to me. This is a time when that daughter needs her privacy and the support of her parents, not to be exploited as a "great example" of anything! And the baby... anyone who has had a special needs child knows that there are many hurdles ahead, and many joys... but precious little time for public adventures. How self centered and needy can a parent be to desert her children for the sake of public attention? It makes me seriously question Mrs. Palin's ethics, her family values and her common sense. She does not earn my vote. With all the intelligent, able and talented women in politics today, what posessed John McCain to pick this running mate?

Alaska Gov Palin has had to deal with the Russian "Bear Bombers" flying over her state border several times a month, with her hand on the "red" phone; had to deal with corrupt Alaska government legislators who tried to fill their own pocket first, challenged big oil by increased taxes on their windfall profits, she has fought corruption within her own party to the point of getting the Alaska AG to resign for his corruption, and now to deal with the problems of the American family - teenage pregnancy, pro-life issues with her own Down-syndrown baby. She has had more "executive experience" from local to national to foreign strategic policy, than any other single governor in the last twenty years! She has continued the historical strides of Hillary Clinton to gain women voters, John McCain is taking the easy way out for himself and for you and me - the American people by appointing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for his VP nomination. Thank you John McCain, history will acknowledge your wise choice!

This was very funny...but sad too. The fact of the matter is that no one is threatened by Mrs. Palin, as much as we are disappointed in McCain. I am an Independent and with the selection of Palin, It looks as though I will be Democrat in my vote.
This woman who consistently votes against teaching children about contraceptives; and ironically, her child falls victim to the lack of knowledge>!?!?!?!? Perhaps, if she would have been aware of how to properly use a condom and do so confidently during her sexual encounter, she would not be in this predicament.
My point is, by not informing our children about sex, the risks of sex, and how to protect themselves; we might as well become Bush because just as he sends our soldiers off to die in a war that we really do not understand and that is meaningless; we are sending our children off to die in a society that is more concerned with Conservativism and dissolutions that “THEIR” children are not sexually active.
What the HELL is McCain thinking and what the HELL are the Republicans thinking by supporting this. I am not comparing Barack Obama to Martin Luther King Jr., but how do we place…no, how do we judge his ability to run our country effectively based on his age and time spent in a corrupt Senate? Martin Luther King was a very young leader that changed the African Americans were perceived in America and around the world. He is untainted by lobbyists and private interest groups; thus, he has no vested interest in anyone BUT THE PEOPLE.
Obama has consistently fought for the people throughout his career along side Michelle, who with Ivy League educations, chose to take a more humble path. They did not marry into wealth and were not born into wealth. They do not have Good Old Uncle same tying their shoes for them. When do we as a country, STOP being hypocrites, saying that racism does not exist, but yet we do not want to give the party with a Black nominee a chance because there is a Caucasian counterpart? Are we really that scared as a people, Americans?
Ask yourself, is McCain really the best option…he agrees with EVERYTHING Bush did and stands for, but yet, you want to vote him into office for 4 more years of the SSDD (Same Shit Different Day). Get over yourself and be realistic. If the damn tire keeps going flat, GET A NEW TIRE. Stop trying to patch up the old one.
I apologized for my vulgarities, but my frustrations have reached a pinnacle point. This is serious, our country has never been run so far into the ground and it’s time for a change. Yes, we all know and understand the process of the electoral college, but it’s time you got off your behind and did something that may not have an immediate benefit to you, but may benefit your pension…or your children.

It amazes me that the right seems to deduct that because liberals don't condemn people for a certain life style that we promote it or even live it. I'm certainly not for abortion, nor do I persue the homosexual lifestyle but I BELIEVE that there are life choices that are made/lived by others not necessarily parralel to my own. I want diversity, freedom of choice, and the right to promote my own happiness AND to others the freedom to do the same. To be a conservative only seems to mean that it doesn't matter if you live what you preach just as long as you keep preaching and "stay the course". Doesn't matter if it working or not.

I can not believe how absolutely ridiculously stupid and low minded you people really are. You Obama-maniacs must be terribly frightned of this woman. You have already proved how little you know about politics, scruples and patriotism by supporting Mr.Obama. Haven't your shown what idiots you are enough? Sarah Palin has more qualifications than Obama has and has accomplished much more than he has. For heaven's sake, don't we have enough REAL problems facing this country than to waste time bashing this young, talented, promising and accomplished young woman and family? GET A GRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I think that the personal lives of government officials and their families should be private and not play any part in politics. However, this situation about Palin's daughter should be viewed not from the angle of the daughter but the fact that the first act by this prospective vice president involved deceit of the American people and the World at large. By having the daughter hold the baby and spread a blanket over her in such a way that one would automatically think that its purpose was related to the baby and not to conceal her bulging tummy in deceit. Why didn't her husband or her son hold the baby?
Added to that, I think it was totally irresponsible to have a girl who is 5 months pregnant stand and hold a baby for that length of time.
If McCain knew that the daughter was pregnant, why did they try to hide it? It would have been far more acceptable to have her on stage showing her belly that the way it was revealed.
I'm not too sure if I buy the story that they knew.
Does America really need a person in such a distinguished and influential position who will trick and deceive them?

She just isn't "special." Too bad she just misses pretty with those awful Lenscrafter glasses.
I have always been a died-in-the wool Republican.
She really turns my stomach as a wannabe. And she smells like moose poop.

Isn't your daughter's pregnancy a bit hypocritical, due to your stance on abstinence for teens? When people from less fortunate circumstances have babies and keep them, everyone complains that we taxpayers have to fund and support them. So now we will be funding and supporting a teen pregnancy in the almost White House. I am glad you are giving your daughter support, but shame on you for not supporting other teens who have little or no means to keep and raise their babies.
Posted by: Patty | September 03, 2008 at 11:10 AM
The whole world is watching and listening as Sarah announced her 17 year old is 5 months pregnant. As if deciding to keep the baby and marry the father really white washes the fact that her daughter is doing what every teenager of a certain age is doing-having sex and not using proper birth control. So what she didn't have an abortion-the bigger issue is the endorsement, publicity of teen pregancy and teen parents.

Sarah Palin gets way too much mileage over the fact that she has a "special needs" child. The boy is still only a baby. Babies are easy to take care of. Get back in the news when this boy is 25 and she is still caring for him when she is 69!!! No fair abdicating the care of your own child to one of your other children, as happened to me!! Get real, because Sarah still has idealistic and unrealistic ideas about what a "special needs" child is about. As if that in some way makes this past beauty queen specially qualified to be a breath away from the presidency of the United States. Bull shit! And I DO know what bull shit is, because that is part of MY business.

I'm glad you are running against those pesky "liberels"! Being so much closer to Russia than anyone else in the lower 48 automatically gives you the necessary knowledge of international relations that the McCain ticket needs. So don't worry your pretty head about having only experiences in tourist trade economies, I'm sure we can set up hunting and fishing industries like they have in "Juno" to boost the current housing slump.
AND Thank goodness you will be visiting Focus on the Family land on Saturday. They have lot's of resources for stay at home moms. Now you can update that daily sanctified mom list with your expanded flex-time VP duties. Like indoctrinate waterboarding as approved method of torture, or vote for new supreme court nominees who will make sure that silly scopes thingy is overturned and women don't need to make any hard decisions on reproduction. You should know, women just don't have the smarts to make these decisions on their own.
Make room for two port-a-cribs on the senate floor!

Far more humorous than this blog, are the people who take it so seriously...
"It's actually just sad that someone would be so cruel hearted to disrespect another human being like this. This is nothing short of a bully on the playground making fun of someone who cannot even defend herself."
Did this person not watch Palin's skewering of Obama during the RNC? This women is hardly defenseless, and has her own slew of bullying comments that she has no problem vollying in her very cocky, saracastic manner. Or have they not been around for the past millenia as around the world, prominent people in power subject themselve to public scrutiny--it's this crazy concept called 'feedom of press'...and at times this scrutiny is in the form of...yes...parody. I said it.

L-i-b-e-r-a-l-s are currently pissed off by the blatant hypocrisy you gusy are now showing--how many of you would take off into the streets citing a dip in American Moral Decency of Palin was a Democrat?????
Where are you FAMILY VALUES picket signs and marches now????????
How many of you trashed Britney Spears sister Jaime for being pregnant at sixteen "What kind of mother would let this happen?" You cried into available microphones, blogs and boards--and when someone tried to point out that mistake sand life happens with even good parents, you shouted them down calling them immoral and haters of American values!
And how about Lakeisha of the ghetto who found solace in sex because of how deplorable her life in poverty is—I grew up there so I know what is like and what the despair is like. I am now successful, but I haven't forgotten what it was like to be there, unlike you guys who talk about how easy it is to rise from the ashes when many of you went to school on daddy's dime and don't know crap about what it means to come from nothing.
I made it yes, but many others were trying just as hard and didn't!
No Lakeisha gets labeled a whore who is going to hell, not a girl who made the choice to have her baby despite being poor.
Think about it! How many time shave you pushed FAMILY F VALUES mantras down peoples throat--called Mothers shameless and worthless if they had to work even if that same mother made the choice to have her child as opposed to abort despite being poor. No, instead of lifting her up because you were pro-life , you would trash and vilify her.
You guys talked about bringing the stigma back to teen pregnancy, now, all of damned sudden "its life?"
I have been saying that crap for years and you people acted like I was advocating teen pregnancy. I wasn't! I was saying it was "life"…
I mean--ever day the Dr Laura Schlessinger 's, people that you support, tear women like Palin and her daughter anew one when they call her stupid, man hating show, but now, all of sudden, you understand how MISTAKES HAPPEN???
WTF????????
All I know is the next time I get flack from one of you conservatives for protecting the virtue and reputation of a poor black or poor white working mother who got pregnant young (as I did in the past to your scathing rebukes) and I get your family values, hate filled rhetoric I am going to scream foul so loud the angels in heaven will hear it!
I at least respect conservatives, small group that they are, who have said they don't like Palin for the fact that she wasn't there for her daughter due to "work" and must not have been around to see what she was getting into-- I don't agree with them because I think in today's economy it behooves both parents to work, but at least they have the courage to stick behind the crap you guys have been spouting and amen-ing for years.
Liberal bias???!!! How about a big convenient 360.
But of course, if you do post this--you guys will call me a Saddam Hussein lover, a kool-aid drinker, Osama, tree hugger, pansy, hater of America...a traitor, an alien who abducts cows, and won't have one concrete thing to say because you know I am right.
I mean the only thing you know how to do is trash talk when someone make a valid counterpoint -- so I await the vilification, but the reaction will be becasue you have spent years saying the very opposite of what you are saying now, and now that the spotlight is on your own human fragilities (and you now know you can't act self righteous and holier than thou because anyone, no matter how good a parent they are, can make mistakes) now you have been caught with your pants down and shown for the two faced liars you are!
You stand for nothing and your VALUES can be sold to the highest bidder!
And no, I am less than perfect myself, but I was thirty-five and married before I had a child even though I am a low life Liberal.
Also, I acknowledged I am not perfect and pone to mistakes whereas you stone throwers were always able to walk on water --
Didn't realize you lived in a glass house eh?
