I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I was getting pretty nervous about this interview with Charlie Gibson. Don't get me wrong, the speech at the convention was a big deal but that time I had a bunch of writers and old Andy Rooney tapes to use for inspiration. Here it's just going to be me and Charlie. And this isn't like telling the Frontiersman about my favorite place to shoot geese! Charlie Gibson is a REAL journalist. This is the guy who asked Obama about his flag lapel pin on national TV! I am proud of my record but I don't think I'm giving anything away by saying I haven't really faced those kinds of serious questions before.
Fortunately we have been practicing practicing practicing, and I am feeling a lot better about the whole thing. I thought maybe it would be interesting for you guys to get a behind the scenes look, so here's one of the worksheets that Steve had me do. I think I did pretty well but by now I think I'm EVEN BETTER. Bring it on, Charlie Gibson!

I watched Palin's interview w/Charles Gibson tonight on MSNBC & CNN. It was, in short, a disaster. Palin spoke of taking on the lobbyists, yet McCain has 6 lobbyists running his campaign. She didn't know what the Bush doctrine was. She said that she had given the Alaskan National Guards a "command" which wasn't true. She was asked if she had traveled to a foreign country, which she mentioned Canada and New Mexico. Canada-US is a "state land border" & Mexico is State. She answered "second guess" 4 times to 4 different questions. She mis-pronounced "nuclear." Don't we deserve someone in the White House who can at least pronounce nuclear correctly?
Palin is an extremist and injects her radical religious beliefs in her policies. She doesn't believe in evolution! Women liked Hill Clinton because she championed women's issues, but Sarah Palin is against equal pay for women, etc. She says that she's an activist for parents of disabled children, yet her record shows she cut spec. ed. 62%. Palin also stated she said "no" to the Bridge to Nowhere & ran campaign ads to support this claim, but we all knew she was lying ~tonight she admitted it. She accepted the taxpayers money, and is now building an access road to nowhere! I could go on about her lies in public but what about her abuse of power in office?
I hope America researches this women and makes a conscious decision on what's best for the country, rather than voting for a political party. Voting for McCain/Palin is voting against your own-self interest. We have had a Republican party in office for 8 yrs and they have placed us in debt. We're in 2 wars and our military is spread thin. We've slaughtered 2.1M Iraqis & displaced 4.1M over lies. We are torturing people, our freedoms have been stripped, we're being illegally wiretapped, the most wealthy are receiving 2 tax breaks while shipping their jobs overseas & still taking the tax credit from us, etc.
McCain has changed since '04 and nobody knows him anymore because he's on the radical right side of himself now. He just wants to win and continue the same failed policies.
It's time for change, people. Let's take our country back!
